Description: Flame Scallops (Lima scabra) are brilliantly colored reef-safe filter feeders. They have bright red tentacles that are used to feed by filtering detritus and plankton from the water column. They will not sting any inverts/corals and are completely safe for the reef aquarium. They are very active and use small water thrusts to propel themselves backward. When stationary, they will attach to a rock with a single foot on the backside of their shell.
